Wow. This summer I’m trying to watch my way through all the Kitano films that I hadn’t seen. Last night, I found out that a print of his favourite film was playing in thirty minutes, so I naturally went out and saw it.

Occasionally very funny, but in the end Getting Any? is far too uneven to stand up favorably to Kitano’s more poignant, gripping works. If you haven’t noticed from my recent posts, I’m currently watching my way through my unwatched Kitano films. Next up is Kids Return.

Want to see this soooo fucking badly, but knowing my city, I’ll either get to see it in theatres in 2014 or it just won’t come here and I’ll have to wait for the DVD.
